Orchard of Discord was born out of an old sketch from my teens rediscovered during the pandemic. The sketch was inspired by the idea that the words we speak can be "golden apples". Treasure that can be consumed. In a world fraught with comments, blogs and cancelling, these "treasures" can sew discord much like the original golden apples in Greek mythology that the goddesses fought over arguing who was the most virtuous.

Painting in watercolors that are handmade by another mother/artisan really adds something special to the layering process seen in this piece. Medium: watercolour
